City Limits is a country bar with a bull to ride. It has been successful in downtown Wilmington for years now and can even attract an older crowd earlier in the evening and "girls night out" type of stuff. The one in Wilmington has pool tables and other entertainment.

Hard Times was (I assume they went out of business) a country bar uptown, with a mechanical bull and what not. I think in the same place as City Limits.

But City Limits has better name recognition, so hopefully that will allow it to survive and thrive.

I heard about this new bar going in today as well. From what I heard, they are looking to open it in 2-3 weeks if things work out. If it's the same as the one in Raleigh, my wife's been there numerous times when she was younger and it was just a fun country bar from what she said. Glad to see something like this going in down there.

I wonder if a Police substation would be good to have there? To focus on the Grid/TRUNA area.

From Michael Overton:

"Needless to say we were surprised to see this as well as the old facade of the front of the building as we've removed the bricks that were put up sometime in the late 60's, I think. Everyone keeps asking what we're doing. This is a mainstay in Greenville and one we hope can continue to be a vital asset to the university neighborhood area. We are going to re-do the facade and install a new roof on the building to bring it up to current codes. Our goal will be get a neighborhood supermarket in there so if any of you have any contacts with a concept like this, please let me know asap!!"

I don't think this is the same as City Limits saloon in Raleigh and Wilmington because the names and logos are not the same. The one here is in the Rum Republic location and is called "City Limit Saloon", not City "Limits.

Greenville- https://www.facebook.com/citylimitsaloon
Wilmington- City Limits Saloon Wilmington, NC
Raleigh- City Limits Saloon Raleigh

Just a FYI

First off, those websites are HORRIBLE.

Secondly, it seems like you might be correct. I looked up the City Limits twitter, and didn't see any mention of Greenville.

This sounds like a lawyers wet dream.

The good news for the owner is that the courthouse isn't too far away!
