They needed to do something with this theater. It was in a big need of a renovation. I was hoping that Carmike would turn that theater into a "2 dollar" theater and build a newer one somewhere else in town. But this may work out as well.

I saw an article this weekend that said 2014 was the worst year for theaters since 1995. It's not like they can fill the seats anymore... something like they're doing seems like the right direction to be going.

I think that's where movies are headed. Gone are the days of going to a movie just to watch a movie. Popcorn and drinks are just as much as a meal. I'd gladly watch a movie if I could eat dinner while doing it.
