NB,

That's the Dickinson Avenue Public House. They are already open, mostly for dinner I believe.

The Dickinson Ave area will be an outstanding place to be once the new market rate / student apartments are built there.

How about I just ask the Mayor himself? I'll let you know what he says.

Here is the message that I sent him.

"Mayor Thomas, your recent announcement of $100M for Greenville streets and roads has started a bit of a debate over on the City-Data.com Greenville Developments board. At question is whether you were speaking of widening Firetower east of Charles Blvd or the extension of Firetower to the SW bypass. Can you tell us which project you were speaking of? Thanks!"

Sounds good...I was just putting it out there what the DOT website says. FWIW, the Greenville SW Bypass is a 200 mill project that is supposed to start and end during that timeframe. Maybe they are moving up the Evans and Firetower projects...in one place on the DOT website it says Evans Acq will start in 2019, in another it says 2023 (that's where I found the Firetower widening). It didn't even list a 14th St widening project on a schedule (just a wish list).

I really hope that widening Firetower and Poretetown don't take 10 years before they're done. It certainly needs it badly now. Rush hour seems to last from lunch to 8:30PM on that single lane stretch. It's a constant danger to people turning.

The WNCT article list Dickinson Avenue to Reade Cir. construction to start in 2017, Firetower Rd. widening from Charles Blvd. to E. 10th St. to start in 2019, Evans St. widening from Greenville Blvd. to Worthington & Cooper Streets in Winterville to start in 2021, 14th St. widening from Red Banks to Firetower Rd. to start in 2022.

Nothing Greenville related, but I just wanted to wish all the good folks that frequent this forum a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Glad there is a place for us all to talk about a city we clearly care about!
