Walmart to Close 269 Stores

Almost half of this action is to close all Walmart Express stores. Locally there are locations in Ayden and Snow Hill.

Still haven't found any official confirmation one way or another about what Walmart is going to do with their proposed north Greenville location.

I was just reading the article on the closures, and thanks for the update!

The first pole for traffic signals has been installed, so I assume very soon we'll have an additional traffic signal on Firetower.

Ate at the Rickhouse tonight for the first time. Very nice atmosphere and reasonable menu. Dinner entrees from 11.99 to 13.95. Give it a shot. Its really pretty good.

A new Blow Dry salon opened Uptown. Not my thing, but maybe the ladies will be into it:

Quick check of the agenda from the recent Planning/Zoning Commission meeting, looks like something is going to happen at the corner of W 5th and S Pitt (Adjacent to the upcoming multi-use apartment complex where that horrifically ugly Progress Center building is).

Greenville Utilities has requested a commercial zoning upgrade for that street corner with an "anticipated build-out within 1 year." Not sure if this is for potential office space of theirs, or if there's something else going on, the minutes aren't posted so I'm not sure of the outcome of it.

You can always find some interesting stuff if you snoop around the Planning and Zoning Commission website, and the Planning Divison's website as well.

GUC is tearing that building down and building a parking lot for their employees. They currently park on the Pugh's property.
