It's not that unusual to have a Home Depot and Lowe's that close.
I'm not too surprised; Lowe's is so much nicer IMO.
But still unfortunate for those working at HD.

It'll be difficult to find a new business to put into a former Home Depot, unless it gets divided up. Would a Costco fit in that space?

The building is not even 10 years old! I do hope a business move in there fairly quickly.

It was inevitable. Now all of the vultures that should have been supporting these 2 stores will carry off the leavings. I've spent several thousand dollars at the Greenville store. I always went there before Lowes.

I am very sorry to hear this news, but based on the last few times I went to HD, there was very little traffic compared to Lowes next door.

Thanks for the links, but they only work for paying subscribers of the Reflector. The paper's decision to start charging for its internet content is the reason I came to this site. I'm not paying for info.

All three restaurants are great! Mellow Mushroom and Carolina Ale House plan to be open by this fall. Cheddar's hope to be open by this May.

If you have 10-15minutes and have something positive to say about the location of ECU in the next 10+ years, ECU is conducting a survey on their master facility plan. It is located here: University Master Plan

If you have an hour+ to burn, there is A LOT of info on that site. Info about where the Performing Arts Center will be, the new research campus, new student unionS, etc etc etc. So much info it would make you go crossed eyed.

Does anyone know why the two houses at/near the intersection of Arlington and Dickinson are being moved? The houses are jacked up and ready to roll. Is this just to clear the valuable lot to put it up for sale, or has a business secured the lot already?
