ECU sets record with nearly 29,000 students

28,962 students are attending this semester. Of that amount, 4,320 are freshman and the total graduate student enrollment is 5,993.

ECU says enrollment in the grad school is up 9.5% with 5,461 students enrolled in more than 75 graduate programs.

---

Curious what the number of physical students this is. Not DE.

I agree.

Along with I-40, you will, at some point in the future, have FOUR Interstates going East of I-95 ending in Norfolk, Greenville, Morehead City and Wilmington. And you will also have a good road to Manteo and the connection from Wilson to I-40.

The region sure has come a long way since I left in 2009.

City council has approved club Stillife for a rooftop deck. Uptown Greenvile posted a picture on Instagram of the vision for the rooftop deck. As I was reading through the comments Club Stilllife mentioned that they were possibly going to make it a 25 and up bar.

Its great to see the traditional clubs/bars jumping on the transition bang-wagon going on in UpTown. It is incredible how much continuous change seems to be going on in Greenville. If they get close to that vision that looks very nice. Keep it going!

Well, I just came across an article from the Triangle Business Journal that seems to confirm your concern about bridge clearances. State Traffic Engineer Kevin Lacy mentions it.

http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/...-would.html#i1

Quote:
Lacy says that in order to bring the stretch of highway up to “interstate standards,” crews will need to make multiple improvements over the next two decades, including widening the shoulders and raising bridges. Some of the improvements can happen in conjunction with regular maintenance, such as repaving projects “we’d do anyway,” he says.
I'm no engineer, but those bridges don't look much, if any, different than those on I-795 (except for the large US-70 Bypass interchange). I also don't understand what other "multiple inprovements" are needed. That's a real head-scratcher.

If those bridges really are too low, NCDOT could always ask FHWA for a waiver for those bridges. It's a long shot, but it's an option. If FHWA refuses, NCDOT would probably just give US-264 the I-85 treatment and lower the highway rather than replace the bridges.

I think the questionable bridges along 264 are on the stretch between Zebulon and Wilson in the divided sections built around '79....64 may have some of the same issues. If that is the case, those bridges are fairly old and the state can likely justify replacing them because of their age in the next 10 years.
