Whole lot of "hurry up and wait" in regards to the 10th, Firetower and Evans St projects...

Paperwork slows progress on 10th Street measures - Daily Reflector

To paraphrase...DOT waiting on cost estimates for the 10th St improvements. No timetable, just as soon as possible (rolling eyes)

Design is not complete on Evans yet...some time in 2017 (apparently it will take the whole year), then Environmental for another whole year and maybe ROW in 2019.

As for Firetower, a little good news, they are actually thinking about including improvements at the Charles and Arlington intersections (so we can cut the light cycle delays from 4 to 2). And not finished with design there either, apparently trying to minimize impacted properties. I have a suggestion, how about reducing the number of Firetower addresses to just those with significant setbacks. This would keep traffic flowing and improve the aesthetics of the corridor. This approach has been shown to work well on Arlington (between Hooker and Memorial) and currently on the 10th St connector.

I guess with the 1990's projects (10th St connector and Southwest bypass) currently under construction, they figure there is no rush on these early 2000's projects.

NCDOT is usually a day late and a dollar short, but at least they're not as incompetent as VDOT.

Greenville to receive $100 million for road improvements | WNCT

A large portion of the money will go towards widening main roads like Firetower Rd., Evans St., and 14th St.

The rest of the money will be used to make repairs and enhance roads in the city.

This money is in addition to the $15 million voters approved as a bond referendum during the November election.

Also, gotta love the misspelling in the freaking title. Come on small time WNCT.

I think y'all are talking about different things. Yes, there is a new First Bank @ Arlington & Turtle Creek Rd

But there is also something being built @ Arlington & Mulberry Ln (Breezewood enterance). No signage on/around the building, just that The Little Bank is financing.

My money was originally on a bank branch, but the shell of that building looks like a retail store.

This reminds me...can anyone else believe how much cheap commercial construction is going on around here? Sheesh.

Growth is a funny thing.
