I am sure ECU Police has traveled between the Health Sciences & Main Campus and ran into some red-tape about not being to intervene.
I never said they weren't real cops, but as a department, are they equipped to deal with city problems? The university is a city within itself. It deserves a police force that focuses solely with its own population and problems.

ECU PD pulls people over on streets downtown already. I'm not really sure I understand what's in this for them.

First time poster, but lived here for nearly 20 years. My wife has started a project called Greenville NC ROCKS where rocks are painted with different themes and "hidden" around the downtown (uptown?) area to be found and then re-hidden. We recently visited Mebane NC and they are doing a similar project. Our kids loved finding and re-hiding the rocks. It a great way to explore the downtown area and gives the kids something fun to do. That will be a welcome addition to 14th street. Can't wait for the home owners who are unfortunate enough to live directly on that street to start their bitching & moaning.

Was just driving down 14th st between Charles and Greenville Blvd and was wishing it was wider to accommodate some bike lanes. I think that stretch is as wide as it could be, though. Adding bike lanes from Greenville Blvd to Firetower will be great, and will connect the bike lanes on Red Banks, but you'd still have nowhere to go once you hit Greenvile Blvd or Firetower.

City seeking input for a name of the "BBQ & Beer trail"

'Hogs & Hops' - Voting opens for name of new Pitt Co. beer, BBQ trail

Quote:
Now is your chance to vote for the official name of the new Pitt County Beer & BBQ Trail.

The Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau is developing the beer and barbecue tourism campaign over the summer with plans to launch it in early September.

The options include:

Pitt County Beer & BBQ Trail
Pitt County Brew & ‘Cue Trail
Pitt County ‘Cue & Brew Trail
Pitt County Hogs & Hops Trail
Pitt County Pigs & Pints Trail
Pitt County Pits & Pints Trail
Or you can suggest your own name. You can vote here.

The campaign will consist of a passport program, which participants will be able to pick up at the Greenville-Pitt County Visitors Center, or download from visitgreenvillenc.com, and follow the trail map across the county to experience local breweries and barbecue joints and get their passport stamped at each location.

Once their passport is stamped by all participating trail businesses, people can bring it back or mail it to the Greenville-Pitt County Visitors Center to redeem their trail prizes. Because not everyone will choose to complete both the beer and barbecue portions of the trail, there will be three trail promotional items offered for completion of the trail: one for completing the brewery stops, one for completing the barbecue stops, and one for completing both the beer and barbecue stops.

This trail campaign is designed to promote Greenville-Pitt County and attract visitors interested in craft beer and barbecue.

I'd vote for: Pitt County Brew & ‘Cue Trail. Please let them not choose the Hogs & Hops...we don't need anymore redneck backwards stereotypes for this area.
