Do we know where Bonefish Grill is going to be, or rumored to be? If it's "interior fit-out," I assume that means they're taking an existing building...or they're contracting out the interior separate from the building structure/exterior (does anyone do that?).
I think the SOP these days are to sub-contract about everything. Plus BG has a unique exterior. I assume either a raze of a current building or a complete new build.
According to this (ftp://ftp.northlakeconstruction.com/Bonefish%20Grill%20-%20Greenville,%20NC/S7.0%203D%20Perspective.pdf - broken link) drafting document PDF, Bonefish is to be located "Near the intersection of Arlington Blvd. and NC 43 in the Greenville Square Shopping Center". So yes, it will be essentially in the Kmart parking lot. Can you imagine what that intersection will be like with Bonefish on one side and Carolina Ale House on the other? There is already terrible traffic that backs up so bad you can't even get through that intersection -- and that's not even due to the mall or Greenville Square. What will happen when both of these businesses have traffic flowing to them? Of course, there is existing traffic into and out of both of those driveways, but it seems to me the increased traffic will not be welcome.
Lack of competition. People from New Bern, Greenville, etc go there.
I remember back in the day that there used to be a Mercedes-Benz dealer in both Greenville (shared with Greenville Nissan) and Goldsboro (shared with the Dodge dealer). Also used to be an Acura dealer in Greenville across the street from the old Carolina East mall.

Yeah. We're just waiting for them to rename the rest of 264 to an Interstate. 264 is already mostly built to Interstate standards. Controlled access, zero traffic lights, no tight bends in the road etc.
Greenville is the largest city in the whole US of A without an interstate, actually. To the long-time Greenville residents: was there a sense of isolation out here before 264 was opened up all the way to Raleigh?

Fresno, CA doesn't have an interstate running through it (I-5 is maybe 50 miles away). There are several cities larger than Greenville in CA, and others elsewhere, that don't have interstate access in the city.
Does anyone know when Ulta is supposed to be opening?
