Default Emerald Isle

Hi. I will heading to Emerald Isle this weekend..first time. Once over the bridge (58) how will I know when to park and hit the beach? The map shows a long stretch of land. Are there parking spots/beaches that are better than others? I have read some other posts mentioning Indian Beach. Thanks.

this following is from a previous thread on the raleigh board. the link should be of some assistance, though:

Also if you make it down there you might want to hop on over to Beaufort and check out the NC maritime museum, and get a boat ride out to Shackleford Banks and see the wild horses. Also check out the NC aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores

Edit: Also, Check out Fort Macon. There bathhouse is my fav public facility on the Crystal Coast, though I think the beach access at the fort itself is most picturesque b/c of the rocks, though you can't swim at that one. I find the access at new bern st to be the least crowded during the summer peak, though. This is all on the Atlantic Beach part of the island, which i grew up close too. I miss the old Circle Amusement Park and Jungle Land.
