I just got back from a week in Myrtle Beach with my kids and extended family. We loved it: it wasn't too far of a drive, the beach was great, and lots of things to do in the evening.

I'm looking to go to the beach for another week this summer, and wondered if there are any other beaches fairly close that are kid-friendly with things to do in the evenings (shows, miniature golf, broadwalk, amusement park, etc...). Any suggestions?

That's my hometown. It's a great place to visit, especially with kids. Unfortunately, there isn't really another place that I know of like it close by. The beaches in NC are quiet, clean and peaceful. They don't have the features that Myrtle does. But they're great for a quiet getaway.

I believe that Carolina Beach still has all those things. Ft. Fisher is nice with the Aquarium, and the public beach is nice there.

I grew up in Myrtle Beach . I have fond memories of going to White Lake NC as a child. Very family friendly but it has been awhile since I have been there so no idea of current attractions.
