I know there's a thread on restaurants in Wilmington, but I was looking for a little more help. My Mom and I will be going down on her birthday and I want to take her out for dinner once we settle into our hotel. I'd like a nice place where we can get some fresh fish, maybe have a glass of wine. Nothing outrageously priced, but a little nicer than your typical chain. Any suggestions?

Oceanic with a panoramic view of beautiful Wrightsville Beach. She'll love it!

Thanks! That's where I was originally thinking, but then I was reading mixed reviews on it. Should I make reservations? Is it typically busy?

Oceanic was really nice when me and my mom went. we went on a weekday, early and it was dead. maybe you do dinner there, walk on the beach, and find a place for dessert? if you want to get reservations ask to be seated upstairs near the picture windows though so you have a good view of the ocean!

have fun! let us know how it goes!

We've been there numerous times and have never made a reservation. How busy they are depends on what time you go,but if you have to wait,it probably want be but a few minutes. If cost is a concern, lunch is a whole lot cheaper than dinner.
