Since we can't afford Wrightsville Beach this time of year, we're having to choose between Ocean Isle or Atlantic Beach. No need for amusement parks or boardwalks, but require lodging with a view of a wide beach and a private balcony. Shell hunting would be nice. Any suggestions?
Ocean Isle Beach, its a beautiful family friendly beach, there are no amusements but quite a good shell picking beach if you get there early or after a storm!
There are a few good hotels with balconies and views of the beach, and plenty of homes to rent. Good luck and enjoy your stay whereever it may be.
I'd say Atlantic Beach, even though the Circle amusement park and jungle land are gone. you still have a couple of miniature golf courses, Fort Macon, Shackleford Banks, Beaufort, and the Aquarium At PKS all in the vicinity.
