I've come to the OBX many times from the north, but will be coming from the south this year. Does 64 get lined up like it does coming down from VA beach. Just wondering if I need to try to get accross really early.

Thanks

I-64 doesn't go through NC. If you're talking about US Hwy 64, i've only ever driven it as far as it intersects with US hwy 17, but have never had a problem. speed limit is 70mph

Taking US64 into the Outer Banks has far less traffic than if you were coming from Virginia Beach. It's a far more peaceful ride.

It isn't bad crossing into Nags Head on 64, but if you are going north (Duck, Corolla) then things get bad when you merge with the traffic coming from Virginia Beach.
