Ok, locals -- what does this mean to an arriving vacationer? I am not sure if this means anything other than to expect heavy surf and rain in OBX? Should travelers delay their plans?

Gottasay,
It's too early to say exactly what the storm will do. And as far as how it will impact the NC coast-It will really depend on where along the coast you will be as to what the affects are.
But as a heads up-When a storm gets close in-It usually gets fickle as to where it is going.

According to the local weather folks this morning, "Danny" will do much the same that "Bill" did last week-end. Heavy surf with bad rip currents, rain coming in late Friday PM, clearing up Saturday morning. So come on down, just plan to STAY OUT OF THE WATER, until the life guards say it's ok.

I enjoy going over and watching all the surfers who love this type of weather.
