We are moving to Wilmington from western Massachusetts...

I am forced to look for rentals via the web and will have all of two days in early DEC to lock down a place?

I am getting so much conflicting opinions on the area, and on potential spots to live....

We are in our early thirtys...no kids...love beer...hate t.v.

help?

What exactly are you looking for? An apartment or a house? How much are you able to afford a month?

I did the same thing, had spent a total of about 3 hours in Wilmington by the time I chose a place to live.

"We are in our early thirtys...no kids...love beer...hate t.v."

In the absence of any other information it sounds like you'd fit in well downtown. Great place to live if you like to drink, meet a wide variety of people, and generally live a non-suburban life. Bad place to live if you are trying to raise kids, and/or are sensitive to some of the things that urban life entails. Crime, drugs and general vagrancy are the biggest concerns.

Downtown! Below 5th, between Market & Church i'd say. It's safe if you're smart. Don't buy into the fear people try to put out there about it.

I hate to tell you "Go search for your answers..."

but that's what I'm gonna say, since they've been answered quite a bit. The good news, by coming back for post #2, you've put yourself in an elite group.
