For those you are wondering about the growing season here on the North Carolina coast. I picked my first ripe tomato this year on June 2.

Upon returning from a Thanksgiving holiday, I just picked a couple of tomatoes from my plants that I put in the ground on August 22.

There are still green tomatoes on the plants.

Here are pictures of our tomatoes, pansies, roses and banana tree.

Last night we picked tomatoes and lettuce from our garden for our salads. We have collards, green beans, onions, banana peppers, bell peppers and a vareity of herbs either at the picking stage or will be in a week or so.

But then again in years past-I remember a snowflake or two!

But I tell what else is ripe, plentiful and ready for "picking" right now!
Sea mullet, speckled trout, king mackerel and more! Look for the giant bluefin tunas (3-500lbs.) to show up off the beaches any day now!
