If I were to vistit MHC area, where would I stay? I have been trying to research decent hotels, but there doesn't seem to be any in MHC. Is there a neighbooring city/area that we could try. We would like to tour the MHC/Emerald Isle area to move to and would like an accurate profile before we up and move down there. We will be staying 8 days and want some of the comforts of home for the whole family. Any ideas? Any areas to avoid? Any advice will help!

Try the Sheraton at Atlantic Beach. The prices plummet in the off season and you can often get an even better price than they advertise if you're willing haggle a little or simply just ask. I stayed there for $60 one Valentine's Day.

If you're staying for eight days, why not rent a house and get a full kitchen so you can cook some meals?

If you want to stay in cute Beaufort, Beaufort Realty has some sweet cottage rentals within walking distance of all the restaurants and waterfront activities in Beaufort

I should add that if you want to stay in Morehead, the Hampton Inn is the quietest and has water view rooms where you can see osprey and dolphins on occasion..these water view rooms are an upgrade from the standard rate, but are worth it if you want to be on the water.
