My husband recently got accepted into a Graduate program at East Carolina University and now I am trying to get as much details as possible. We are looking for some where resonable to live. I am looking for where would be the best to move in the area. Where are the crime related areas? What areas we need to stay away from, etc.? I have never been up in the area before so I dont know a lot about it. I am also looking for places where I can get a job. I recently received my MBA so anywhere that I can utilize that. Also if you all have any recommendations for real estate agents I would appreciate it. I would appreciate any information yall might be able to give us. Thanks

Your best bet to answer most of your questions is to get a real estate agent. I've worked with Leon Hardee of Remax Preferred in Greenville. You can google his number. He worked really hard to make my deal work. He also knows the area extremely well. The best way to know if the area is suitable for you or not is to ask if the agent would put their mother in that area. Remember, they are not allowed to discriminate based on age, color or creed.

Which campus will your husband be at? That can make a difference in terms of where you live. Many of my classmates are on the west side of town to be closer to the allied health campus.

It seems like there are pockets of good and bad throughout Greenville, but the west side and associated condo areas seem to have (or are perceived as having) more petty crime and home break-ins.

You can review crime stats and learn about the town at the local newspaper The Daily Reflector

Good luck on the house hunt and welcome to Greenville!

I guess he will be at the main campus. I am not really sure! He is studying psychology. Thanks for the information! The psychology department is great I told them that we were looking for a house and the hooked us up with a real estate agent and one of the 2nd year students is going to meet me when I get up there to show me around! Its wonderful!
