I also found a worsted wool cape - short, belted, red with a black fur collar and big black buttons down the front - for $5. WOOHOOOO!!!!

I lucked out yesterday and found a rather tatty looking stool for my bedroom for $10 and a Temple Stuart china cabinet/hutch for $120, I was going to paint the china cabinet but its maple and I feel a bit guilty about covering up the lovely woodgrains so it may just get a good cleaning and polishing instead.

Late forties Hale Piano hammer for tuning pianos in perfect condition. The handle is made of layers of laminated exotic woods fused with a bakelite resin. The metal tuning nut and shaft is hand crafted of a high quality metal alloy. For a piano tuning wrench the thing looks like a piece of modern art. Picked it up for 2 bucks. Apparently it is highly prized to find one in this condition by piano tuners, repair people and collectors.

Found it on the ground on a tarp at the flea market mixed in with a myrad of other misc items. Nope, didn't know what it was other than I could immediately tell it was constructed with high quality materials and craftmanship.

I bought a small green jade bowl for £250, or about $350 about two years ago, in a small antiques shop in Oxford. I had it evaluated and they estimated it could sell at £5000/$7000! I was over the moon. We put it up for auction here in the US and it fetched a cool $8000! Turns out it was made during the early Ming Dynasty!
