I can't see much in that picture but my guess is that they might be American Bricks made by Elgo Plastics.

Shape of some of those is very similar but they are not the ones. Mine are larger and would not go into the cannisters pictured. Mine are near the size of real brick. But thanks, this is as close as I have seen yet.

I am amazed that I have never found anyone with a set of these and no one here or another forum has heard of them. I know I didn't get the only ones ever made. That couldn't be!
