A friend is selling her uncles estate and came across the item pictured below, we have no idea what it is, it looks like a tooth ??

All suggestions are welcome

It looks like a watch fob, but in this case it's a vest fob. You put the bar at the end of the chain through a buttonhole on the vest and when you button up it holds the chain and thus the watch in place. The fob is just a decorative element added to the chain. Not sure what that is, I guess it could be a tooth from some animal. I'm sure there's a story behind it but not sure you'll ever know if the owner is deceased. Interesting piece though!

Looks very much like the Ivory tooth out of a Elk. I have seen a few of these and this is like the newer ones.
