Which of these models have you used, and which would you recommend a new(er) user acquire if it's the only one I'll probably ever get (using Rewards program to obtain, so limited to Bounty Hunter).

Gold Digger
Discovery 3300
Commando Camo
Land Ranger Pro
Quick Draw Pro

Thanks for your recommendations and suggestions!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. The Land Ranger Pro is the best, just over $250 new from the cheapest seller on eBay despite the $449 MSRP. Sounds off loud on my dime planted 5" deep, with correct ID. Very easy to operate, and lightweight. Uses only 1 9V battery. Best wishes.

Default Updated for a unit to use at beach??

Looking for one with waterproof coil that can be used along the beach--
Maybe over shallow, very shallow, surf
Not for diving

Am in FL and husband asked for one for Xmas...we are close to the beach
But we have used one in past when we had lawn irrigation problems to find some of the valves underground
I think we are having problems w/older system's valves
We didn't install system....
