I just find it ironic that Nebraska worked so hard to get away from the Longhorns and Cornhuskers might just end up in the same conference anyway when it is all said & done.

With that said, I hope the Longhorns do not go to the Big 10. Texas is simply not the Midwest and neither is Oklahoma. I'm still holding out hope that the SEC comes hard after Oklahoma and Texas....in which case, A&M and Okie State will come along too. Next best scenario is the proposed Pac10 expansion with 5 of the Big 12 South teams going to PAC10. We'll see.

Going to be interesting. Texas has leverage with 3 big TV markets, they go where they want. I think Missouri could be a fit for the Big 10, they have the KC and STL TV markets...Notre Dame wants to stay independent in football, but is Big East for other stuff, they are screwing things up.

Yeah, who knows? If Texas, OU, A&M, and Okie State go to the SEC, I see the Pac-10 possibly inviting Utah and staying at 12. I heard a rumor that Oklahoma State will be the next to sign. But, then again, we'll all see.

I really want to see some Oregon football here in Texas. We will truly have a house divided as my fiance is a Longhorn and I'm a Duck.

Here is how I think it will shake down.

The PAC-16 will include the PAC-10 plus:
Colorado
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas
Texas Tech
Texas A&M

The Big 10 will include its original teams plus:
Nebraska
Missouri
Rutgers?

The Mountain West will add:
Kansas
Kansas State
Boise State
This will give them 12 teams, and they will be a BCS conference.

Baylor goes to C-USA and fades into obscurity.

Iowa State goes independent for at least a couple years. Maybe goes to the Big East, maybe goes to the Big 10 if Rutgers doesn't join, or if the Big 10 goes with 16 teams (hello, Notre Dame?). Iowa is already there, so that's probably more logical.

As for Nebraska to the Big 10. I think this is great. This is like a guaranteed conference championship for the next 20 years. Who in the Big 10 is going to beat them? Iowa? LOL. Ohverrated State? roflmao. State Penn? Replay now is better than it was in 1981, so no. Michigan? Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa

GO BIG RED
You will find out just how hard it will be soon.Ohio State didn't have a lot of trouble with the Big 12 in the past...They played Texas well in their two losses but beat the **** out of them where it counted in Texas. Beano Cook ranted how the Big Two & Little Eight days where over when the mighty Penn State took to the field with the legendary Joe Pa... The Huskers haven't been what they were without Tom Osbourne just hope they have cleaned up their act...this is the Big Ten we do have class except for that team up North ...totally classless. You will find out....can't wait

If Cal in specific and the PAC 10 in general have problems with Baylor as a Baptist school there is no way they'd take BYU which is a Mormon school. Unless of course you were talking about that the powerhouse that is Utah State.

You are a boy, a simple amatuer, calling out other's teams with slanted media feed bulls**t. Aren't you the lil' Fox Investigator...fair and balanced ignorant b.s. Son, now go play with your legos.

One more thing, you can try to pump up your chest about RU's invention of football. No one cares. The 1800s have passed. You guys are irrelevant now. You can continue to believe differently, but trips to the Pizza, Texas, Independence, St. Petersbug, and Insight bowl are not impressive. Your coach is sitting at .500 with y'all and you want to take a swing at Oregon.

Respect, you have none. Snookie's waiting. You're dismissed!
What does biased media have to do with your joke of an institution?

I'll bet my bottom dollar I'm older than anyone who refers to people as "son" or "kid" on the internet.

And you better care about the invention of college football. Because if not for us, you have nothing to talk about. Since I saw you want to get political, let me put it this way, Rutgers is to college football what the founding forefathers are to America. Besides, 3 of the last 4 SB winners have had a RU alum as captain.

And you want to talk about irrelevance? Up until maybe 10-15 years ago, Oregon was one of the annual laughing stock programs in the nation. At least their athletics yielded respect back then in the fact they were above allowing thugs and degenerates into the school.

And the purpose of colleges isn't to field a football team. It's to learn. RU alum who never make it to the NFL from RU generally end up with real post-grad jobs. Can you say the same about Onterrio Smith?

And I don't care about "taking a swing" at Oregon. You can have your parolee football team even if it's better than the team RU fields. It's easy to field a good team when you can take any goon off the street who can bench 400 lbs and run a sub 4.5 40. At this level, I'll take respect and integrity considering 90% of the players on both squads likely don't have NFL futures.

I will reiterate son, athletes can mess up anywhere. But you're right, your athletes/former athletes are a saintly bunch. Gee, and is that an assistant coach? That's royally choice! Now, I believe we are finished. You can think anything you want about Oregon. Let's sum everything up:

RU appears to have some very bright individuals like all teams
RU played the first football game
Oregon has a better program now...by far! (which is what relevant means- pertaining to the matter at hand- i.e. the now)
Oregon has hotter cheerleaders...by far!

If you want to really talk about academics, I'll put my Master's (from the #3 arbitrarily ranked program in the nation) up for scrutiny, but I'd rather talk about football.

Dismissed!

I dont care who you are a fan of, this whole situation is not good for college sports. This is a very sad time for college sports. There isnt a single person that should be happy with this, at all.
