Give it time, Brian Kelly is a great coach, and he will turn ND around in the next few years.
Last big bowl ND was in that I can remember was the Sugar Bowl in 2006 (which they lost to LSU) and the Fiesta Bowl in 2005 (which they lost to Ohio State). That was back when they had Brady Quinn I believe...

Stanford is doing just fine with a bunch of brainiacs in their starting lineup.

It's especially funny when ND sub-alums use the academic excuse after getting beat by a service academy or another good school, like USC, Stanford, or Michigan.

I'm a big 10 graduate and even did some tutoring for the athletic department for some guys that went on to play in pro-bowls, superbowls etc.

Let's not kid ourselves for a second that a lot of the schools like Michigan, USC etc. that are excellent....don't have reduced guidlines and soft majors for athletes.

I can attest that there is a BIG difference between say....the difficulty of Electrical Engineering ciriculum and say marketing at Univ. of IL.

I'm not labeling all athletes, just saying that if someone with Lebron like skills wanted to play basketball at Michigan with bare bones test scores just high enough to be able to play.....they'd be going to school there.
