The officials got that 4th down replay call right, too. Surprisingly enough. The replay guys normally hide behind "indisputable evidence" on close calls like that.
Since I was rooting for Mizzou I was disappointed with the loss but at least it was an interesting game. Iowa has performed extremely well in bowls vs. the Big 12. They beat Texas in 1984 in the Freedom Bowl and they've beaten my team (Texas Tech) twice in the Alamo Bowl, in 1996 and in 2001...and now Mizzou in 2010.

Texas beat Iowa just a couple of years ago in the Alamo bowl! Hook 'Em!

(looked it up-- year was 2006)
In that game (played here in Texas, BTW) Iowa scored the winning TD, but it was mysteriously called back on an offsides penalty. On replay, the offsides player was shown to clearly be behind the line of scrimmage. The call on the field was upheld. Surprise, surprise! Texas won by 2 points vs a 6-6 Iowa squad that probably shouldn't have been in a bowl that year. Then in last years' B12 championship game, UT was beaten by Nebraska. But wait! The officials mysteriosuly found another second to put back on the clock giving them the shot at a field goal.
UT-Austin has a political deathgrip on college sports in this state. They're the reason the old SWC folded and now they're the reason that the Big 12 is on the verge of dissolving, too. They're poison to anyone who enters into a relationship with them.

No-- UT very fairly beat Nebraska. It was obvious to anyone who actually watched the game that there was still 1 second left on the clock. I was at the game and it was even obvious to me. All the Nebraska fans were screaming and cheering while I was yelling about 1 second being left on the clock. Even Colt McCoy knew there was one or two seconds left-- he said it during the post game interview. Go Horns!
As for the Iowa game-- you really think refs would rig the game to give UT a win in the Alamo Bowl?!?! Why?
Well that was a win win for you, it looked like the Steelers were playing the Steelers last night. LOL
But Iowa's uniforms look just like the old-school Steelers uniforms with the block numbering. Literally, the only differences are the Hawkeye logo on the helmets and a slightly different typeface for the players' names.
Speaking of Iowa, my fiancee and I were looking at homes around North Austin yesterday and we must have seen 4-5 Hawkeye flags and/or mailboxes in those neighborhoods. I found that interesting, but I thought, "Who would want to live near a Steeler-looking team when you are a still bitter Seahawk fan?"
