Here's my list;

1. Alabama (football is nearly religion down in Bama)
2. Penn State (as from what I've seen on televised games, these guys are crazy)
3. Florida (Don't expect to play in "The Swamp" and leave without having your feelings hurt)
4. Tennessee (I've honestly never seen one of their games on TV, but from what I've heard, people are crazy for their Vols)
5. Kansas State (You're probably thinking I'm crazy, but once you see the crowd do the Wabash Cannonball, you'll never be the same)

This probably isn't a very good list, but it's from what I've seen and/or heard. Feel free to comment with your lists.

You're right that is terrible. Too much third-hand information, or maybe too little. Kansas State?

1- Nebraska
2- Alabama
3- Texas
4- Oklahoma
5- Ohio State

In terms of fans it would seem the SEC overall is probably top to bottom the best. And the Big Ten and Big 12 would be top heavey on this with with a slight edge to the Big Ten IMHO.

On fans overall by team the top to mind would be and in no particular order

PSU
OSU (Ohio not OK St)
Michigan
Nebraska
ND
OU
TX
FSU
LSU
AL

I hear about teams like Clemson being crazy etc and think there are quite a few mid-tier programs that have pretty good fan bases and great game day scenes...

Florida fans, especially game day fans, are some of the most rude fans I have ever met. As a kid I went with my dad to the UCF/UF game as a UCF fan. This was back when UCF was extremely terrible. UCF ended up losing but yet they beat the spread. The fans kept ragging the win like as if they won a national championship. So I can attest, these fans are diehard to their team and deserve to be in my top 5 best fans to their team and top 5 worst fans to opposing team fans.

Texas fans are not so hot....and I am one myself.

Nebraska fans used to be classy, but now...not so much (at least online they aren't).

The most fanatical fans seem to be in the SEC.

Some of the worst - Colorado, Arkansas, OU, A&M.

Kansas State probably shouldn't be on the list, but trust me, they're pretty crazy.
