In case you didn't watch the Miami - Maryland game tonight, the real story was Maryland's new alternate uniforms that they unveiled.

Fear the helmet: Maryland's new uniforms draw attention

The feedback is mixed, but more negative than positive.

It's more comfortable for me to say I hate them and I don't like that this seems to be where everyone is headed, but, on the other hand, in a way, they're kind of cool.

What do you think?

They incorporate some sort of tradition. Plus.
No neon. Big plus.
They beat miami wearing them. Win.

I like 'em. For Maryland.

On the whole... NO.
I think that unbalanced look from one side to the other is distracting.

Using the pattern from the flag was cool and from an artsy fartsy standpoint they're interesting...
but I'd hate to be a player on the field and having to consciously look through the clutter for my guy.

Go Terps!

I didn't watch the game, but saw highlights on ESPN. So while I saw some glimpses, I really didn't have much chance to study them.

That being said, I thought the helmets were a bit much. However, they did incorporate some sort of tradition, the Maryland state flag. I didn't really care for them, but I thought they were better than Oregon or Georgia (or Boise's shoes) from Saturday night.

I had to ask my wife if we bought a 3D set this weekend, and she didnt tell me.

I thought the uniforms were a bit much-----helmets looked like they were down by etch a sketch.

.......Great design.

The Maryland flag has a bunch of cool elements to it and they made usage of those elements creating great contrast on the helmets. A real strong statement.

I thought they were quite garish and over the top.
