another one!

I think it would be funny if MU went to the SEC, given that its mascot was named for the "Missouri Tigers," the pro-UNION militia that defended Columbia from Confederate attack.

Missouri should go to the SEC. Southern Living named Columbia Mo one of the South's best college towns:

Columbia, Missouri < Best College Towns - Southern Living

That settles it!

Um, you do know that sometimes they feature -gasp- Delaware.
Folks, I thought this thread was about football.

Did Coastal Living call Urbana-Champaign one of the best coastal college towns, too? LOL

Also, clearly this is neither here nor there, but did they actually go to Columbia? What the hell is the North Village Arts District? Is that what CoMo is calling Orr Street now? (The District wasn't un-used enough by locals??) And Ragtag is south of Broadway -- not really anywhere near there anyway!

Big Ten would be much easier for travel.

I mean honestly them with Illinois, Iowa and all them is academic. Add Kansas and BAM.

Mizzou and Penn State are 850 miles apart...

Mizzou and Florida are 1K miles apart...

B1G is better academically

SEC is better athletically

it's a wash... either one is fine.

For the record, I've been clued in regarding why this thread has been moved. And as the chief topic of conversation on this thread is football, I'm ok with it being here. What I also am ok with is some of the comments that have been deleted. I'll guarantee if we're not talking football, this thread will go down.

They just seem more like a Big 10 team to me. Can't give you any concrete reasoning behind it, they just seem to fit better there.

That is true. But it may not stop Mizzou from leaving for the Mighty Southern Conference anyway.

Go Tigers!!!!
I hope they stay in the Big 12.

They don't fit in either of those environments. Plus, are they just going to up and leave Kansas? They have a very long lasting rivalry with them that they shouldn't give up on so easily.

Also, I heard that behind the scenes Mizzou was one of the big proponents of keeping the big 12 together
