To be fair it was reported that if UNO hadn't made some drastic changes they would of lost the entire athletic department within 10 years. They hadn't been Title IX compliant since the late 90s and the entire department was taking money from the academic side of the school. The boosters were more angry about that considering UNO doesn't get much in terms of athletic donations compared to academic donations.

Also the most powerful booster for UNO athletics was heavily involved in an insider trading scandal about 2 weeks after this happened so he lost a lot of clout.

I am not necessarily agreeing with the decision that was made, but a very tough decision had to be made one way or the other.

Hundreds of other school handle these same issues without cutting 'revenue' or championship-caliber sports. The Wrestling team was the worst part of this.

I am grand valley state university fan. We are having a uncharacteristic bad year we have lost 3 in a row. Won't make the playoffs for the 1st time in over 10 years. But we have won the directors cup last 5 or 6 years.

Oh, the Lakers! Yes, what a different start to the year for you guys. But don't count out the playoffs just yet. If ya'll win out and other teams lose a few, 3 losses will get you in. UNA got in last year with 3 losses and won the first round game!

D2 is crazy this year. 3 of the Top 5 lost yesterday.

We've played them in the past. I think they're doing much better this season, No?

Title IX compliance seems to depend on who you are. The ONLY Title IX compliant school in South Dakota is my U. of South Dakota Coyotes. They have 10 women's sports and only 5 men's sports. Our rivals to the north, South Dakota State, continue to get by despite having 11 women's sports and still having 10 men's sports including football. There has been absolutely no pressure put on them to change.

Why all the pressure on UNO? They must not have known the right people. They should have contacted SDSU to find out what butts that needed to be kissed.
