So lets not pretend Texas isn't a power house program... Texas will rebound, just like they always do.
Since 2000 ut= VY and Colt. 2 great college QB's. texas is in for some lean years ahead without playmakers like that IMO.

Yeah, I'm not all that impressive with what UT has down throughout the years with the amount of talent that is in the backyard of Texas. I'm much more impressed with what OU has done with the limited population they have.

Teams with the most bowl appearances
1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. Texas

Team Records - Most Bowl Appearances

I agree! Tejas is on the same level as Tennessee.

Bama?....Not so much. That would be Oklahoma as Top Dog and Bama just below.

Acuda is clearly a very wise individual.

Hope you rub off on all those "weird" folk in Austin that sport the Puke Colored Burnt Orange.

Hm...
Since 2000s the Sooners have had nine 10+ win seasons...
Won 6 bowl games (3 bcs bowls)
Appeared in 3 NC games, won 1
OU has the second most wins in the Big 12 since it started...

They are ranked 7th in most bowl appearances

^^This stuff is all pretty similar to Texas. Most of OU's players come from Texas. It is pretty impressive that they have been able to recruit so well here though...

But there is one statistic that won't change for a while:
Texas = 59 wins vs OU
OU = 42 wins vs Texas
(5 ties)
Red River Rivalry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Texas will rise again. (But it probably won't be this weekend... darn cowboys)

Thanks for the wiki link, excellent research skills.

Yeh another stat ain't likely to change = Sooners 7AP Titles to Shorthorns 3AP Titles. These numbers mirror perfectly another great stat: Sooners 7 Big 12 Titles to Shorthorns 3 Big 12 Titles.

Every school fan likes to brag about "all time" and historical data. Well they like to brag if the data is impressive.

None of it matters. I don't think anything older than ten years matters much because it almost has nothing to do with today's team. Every team has down periods eventually. Tennesse is in one. Florida State may still be in one. Georgia certainly is. Texas may be starting one. Ohio State has problems. UCLA completely sucks. Miami is down. Notre Dame may finally be climbing out of mediocrity. OU was awful under Blake and Schnellenberger. And so on.

Not to mention UT barely missed at least 2 more B12 championships by a hair, and obviously the 2009 MNC game against Bama. Plain bad luck with an injury or two, a bad tackle, a dropped int,, and some bad coaching.

OU knows well how luck & all the above can factor in a successsful run at the MNC.

That's one thing I and the majority of UT fans will agree on with the naysayers....OU has consistently had a better coaching staff overall than Brown. Stoops hires as well as any coach ever has, while Brown stuck with deadwood too often.

We'll see about this latest bunch.

The biggest job will be developing a competent O-line, something UT has lacked for 4 or 5 years.

If you are trying to claim Texas is mediocre under Brown, then you are just trolling. Nobody can maintain a team in the top 5 consistently these days.

And yes, a program's overall record matters a lot....otherwise we can say OU hasn't accomplished much in this century. See how your logic works?
