I agree. If I were a HC, I would tell my DC that he will be fired if I ever see that.

I wouldn't say that's the reason they lost... but I'm in full agreement

There are literally hundreds of times that it has worked. 4 man rush has failed before too. Sometimes crazy plays happen.

Three man rushes do work, you are right.. They are very effective if you are trying to allow the other team to score in the easiest way possible.

Right...

Here is a play where Nebraska played basic 4 man rush with underneath coverage(no deep safety). They had run that defense all game.

2009 Virginia Tech vs. Nebraska - The Comeback (HD) - YouTube

If Nebraska had been in prevent there would not have been the blown coverage the Hokie player would of never got behind the Husker.

It goes both ways. Big plays happen no matter what you do. Wisconsin played that play perfectly and they had an unfortunate bounce, sometimes in football the ball doesn't bounce you way.

Agree, pressuring the QB to make a throw is better than 8 dbs.

Oh give me a break..this is crappy execution!

Think about this ..if you rush 5 ...the qb would never have enough TIME to throw the ball that far with 3 guys in place. Sure you could hold a couple guys to block but then there not a guy standing there waiting on a tipped pass. Idiotic..sadly more coaches think like you than not.
