Just kidding...

But would it really be that far fetched with the way these conference realignments have been going?

Conference USA and Mountain West combining?
TCU to the Big East-- no-- the Big 12!
West Virginia to the Big 12
Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC
Missouri wants the Big 10-- no the SEC!
A&M to the SEC

And the latest news... Big East to add Houston, SMU, UCF, Navy, Air Force, and... BOISE STATE!?!? They will have to call themselves the Big Everything conference.

I don't think they've been added just yet. Only invited. Also, neither Air Force or BSU has made it clear that they even want to join the Big East. UCF, U of H, and SMU are almost certain. Navy as well. But the Mountain West schools are doubtful right now.

When it was looking bad for the Big 12 a couple of months ago I thought that at some point they might be forced to merge with the remaining Big East teams.

Some of the mid-majors have a lot of travel anyway, so it probably wouldn't be a huge change for them. The WAC is probably the worst right now, with a team in Louisiana and of course Hawaii.

Man that would be something......Michygan And Penn State in the Same Big 16 conference with schools like North Texas and Looseyanna Laughyette who seat 30 something thousand at their games
Not to mention that travel schedule to places as far away as Ohio and Michigan would not be in the North Texas travel budget.

Boise could kick some serious Bumms by going Indy for a few years. I know that means less conference money, but hey, after playing a tough schedule and winning and establishing themselves, they'd be shoo ins for the PAC 19 or the Super Everything Conference

2 reasons Boise wont join the Big East====Proximity/Logistics and if the did they would actually have to play a good team!

With all the conference shuffling that's been going on lately, nothing would really surprise me at this point....lol. WVU is about to enter the Big 12, which will include major travel distance for them and anyone that plays them in the conference. Even though I doubt it will happen, I wouldn't mind having Boise State in the Big 12 if they decide to go to 12 teams again.

Interesting point. When UNT made the jump to IA years ago (aka BCS now ) they joined a conference called the Big West in 1996 which had a subpar Boise State team amongst others
North Texas went on to the Powerhouse Sun Belt conference and after 4 straight conference championships has done subpar, while Boise State went on to...well ,,,you know that story already

See that shows what the right MONEY and the Right Athletic Director can do for a program.......

Any questions?
