#1 Ranked Delta State lost so if Pueblo can hold on to the lead they should be the first ranked team in division 2 going into the playoffs!

Final score Pueblo 48 Western New Mexico 7!

Now Pueblo should be ranked number 1 in the nation going into the playoffs. Speaking of the playoffs Pueblo will have a BYE in the first round and host the second round at the Thunderbowl Saturday November 26.

I have 2 videos to post and will post them later tonight when I get home.

This was the final play of the game.

This is when CSU Pueblo was awarded the RMAC's trophy. The coach gives a short acceptance speech.

Colorado State University is the NUMBER ONE ranked football team in the nation in division 2. This after they were not even ranked on the first poll of the season!

Now its on to the playoffs. Good luck PACK!

This is from the web page:

COLORADO STATE-PUEBLO FINISHES REGULAR SEASON AT NO. 1

WACO, TEX.– Thanks to an upset loss by then-No. 1 Delta State (Miss.), Colorado State-Pueblo ends the regular season at No. 1 in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Thunderwolves finished with an 11-0 record and will host a second round playoff game on November 26.

2011 American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches’ Poll – November 14, 2011

Rank School (1st votes) Rec. Pts. Prev. Last Week Next Game

1. Colorado St.-Pueblo (16) 11-0 708 2 D. Western New Mexico, 48-7 Nov. 26 vs. Opponent TBD

Normally here I say congrats Pack but I think this news deserves a little more then a simple congratulation.

This is true. We now get to find out if CSU Pueblo is a good national team or just a good regional team. The one up side is they do play at home for as long as they are in the playoffs and the Thunderbowl is hard for visitors to win in, especially if we can sell it out. A group of my friends are going, 10 of us, so we did out part. I can't wait as it should be fun.

EDIT: I have to say I have a feeling they are going to go all the way. Not sure why especially when I don't know anything about the teams they will be playing. I hope my feeling is right.

I liked how the Pueblo Chieftain covered the story of the Thunderwolves being number one so I decided to take a picture of the front page and post it here.

This was the first time I up loaded a picture from my I phone to photobucket using a special app. In time I hope to do a better job with it.

My friend just told me that the west stands were sold out! That is where my seats are as they are behind the Pack or what is known as the "home side". At this rate I have a feeling the stadium will be sold out long before the game. Over 12,000 screaming fans at the game, what a boost for the Thunderwolves.
