What is funny is that I listened to the last thirty minutes of the game as broadcasted by the GVSU announcing crew, and they never mentioned that Bonner was injured. It is hard to believe that he did as well as he did with an injury.

Now it is time for basketball season ...

To be fair they did not announce the injury till after the game and since the announcers for Grand Valley did not know how Bonner played I'm sure they could not really tell. During the last drive of the first half and second half I was like what is going on with him then when the announcement came out about his thumb it all made sense to me. It sucks but it's football. Why people say "if the team stays healthy".

This is the off season and the talk of the state is the Broncos. That being said it looks like next season will be very good for Pueblo and if we can stay injury free I predict a title game appearance. I am posting this now because some new players are already signing up to be on the team.....

This is from Aurora Sentinel:

The Regis Jesuit football standout — who is also a state champion wrestler — announced his verbal commitment via social media on Tuesday, as he joined teammate Quinn VandeKoppel in pledging to the powerhouse Division II program.

As a running back, the bruising 5-foot-10, 215-pounder racked up 747 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Raiders, who went 9-2 overall before losing to Grandview in the Class 5A state playoffs, while he also recorded a pair of sacks and 37 tackles as part of Regis Jesuit’s stout corps of linebackers. Neal was selected to the All-Continental League first team as a fullback and to the all-league second team as a linebacker.

“I am very blessed. I have officially committed to play football at Colorado State University-Pueblo,” Neal posted on his facebook page. “Thanks to everyone who has supported me!!”

Looking at the schedule I think Pueblo will once again go undefeated. The hard game will be against West Texas but at least it is at home and that should give the advantage to Pueblo. I will admit I do not know anything about Sam Houston State? So if Pueblo can beat those two the rest of the season should be ours.

I do not think so.

Sam Houston State was the runner-up for the FCS Championship in 2011 and 2012. They have been in the Top 10 FCS for the past three years. They should be a significantly greater challenge than Northern Colorado. They are going to be a tough team to beat ... at home.

Beating SHSU would be a marquis victory.

You are correct. Since my post I heard more about Sam Houston State and they look tough especially since Pueblo will be playing them on the road. If Pueblo can win, and this is a big if, I think it would be the biggest victory in the regular season and allow them to make a case for being the number 1 team in the nation in division 2.

If they beat SHSU, it would be a more impressive win than Northern Colorado.

Talking CSU Pueblo sets the bar for Colorado college football

Some good press for CSU Pueblo out of Denver so I decided to post it here.

This is from 9 News:

KUSA - CSU set the bar in the state of Colorado last season, CSU Pueblo. CU, CSU, and Air Force combined for 13 wins in 2013, just two more combined than the ThunderWolves won all alone, 11-0 for a third straight season. Under Head Coach John Wristen they've also won 37 straight regular season games.
