This is true.

I heard the field conditions out there were awful... really long grass, making it hard for CSU-P to utilize their speed. Any truth to this?

I heard that as well. Plus the altitude. They remained second place in the national polls so that is good.

When you are the ranked team, everyone has your game circled as the most important game of the season. All of a sudden, mediocre teams are paying their best.

One of the problems with being a top team is taking each team seriously.

That is a good point and that brings me to this weekends game. I have been busy and unable to post about it till now but CSU Pueblo went to Western New Mexico and beat them 45-7. The offence and defense dominated a team that had the number 1 ranked offence in D2. Everyone played good this weekend and it shows the kind of depth the Pack has this year and why they are expected to make it to the title game as long as they stay healthy.

#2 CSU Pueblo remains undefeated as they beat Adams State 17-7 in a close game in Pueblo on regional television.

Another mediocre game from them. They sure did look pedestrian last night.

Any idea what their problem is?

The defense is playing great I do think the passing game is struggling due to injury's. Also, being number 2 mediocre teams come in playing their A game as for most of them this is their biggest game of the season. Yes some of the wins have not been pretty but they are 5 and 0. They do need to improve but you do not want a team at their peak performance now but when the playoffs start.

I was talking about how impressive the win CSU Pueblo had earlier this year with then 14th ranked Sam Houston State University of D1 FCS. I looked up to see if any other team in D2 had beat a top 25 team in D1 FCS and found none so I thought I would post the results here as it shows just how impressive the win was by CSU Pueblo.

#8 Jacksonville State vs. West Alabama

West Alabama lost

#9 McNeese State vs. Arkansas Tech

Arkansas Tech lost

#14 Sam Houston State vs. CSU Pueblo

CSU Pueblo won

#19 Montana State vs. Black Hills State

Black Hills State lost

#23 Bethune-Cookman vs. Florida Tech

Florida Tech lost

#25 Northern Arizona vs. New Mexico Highlands

New Mexico highlands lost
