I knew this was a big victory for Pueblo and now the Greater Pueblo Sports Association has confirmed it!

This is from the Pueblo Chieftain:

They are those games, seasons or events so rich in character, so meaningful, so exciting to watch, that they are promptly promoted to legendary status. The Greater Pueblo Sports Association felt so moved by Colorado State University-Pueblo’s run to a national football championship that it named it one of three great moments in Pueblo sports history even though it happened just seven months ago.

Talking CSU-Pueblo has a different feel this year defending a national title

CSU P is the top college football program in the state this year and continues to get recognition!

This is from the Denver Post:

COLORADO SPRINGS John Wristen has that sense of accomplishment about him this year that might have been missing in the past. The coach worked his way around the crowd with ease at Tuesday's college football luncheon, sponsored by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. Why wouldn't he? Since his previous visit to the annual luncheon, his CSU-Pueblo football team won the NCAA Division II national championship. "Our national championship means a lot to people in Pueblo," Wristen said. "Pueblo is an old steel mill town, and the people like to support their teams. We put out a good product, and something like what we have done unites people."

The defending national champions CSU Pueblo are ranked 2nd in preseason poll.

The number one team is the team CSU Pueblo beat last year to win the national title. When asked about it the Pueblo coach said we will have to beat them again when it counts in the national title game this year.

Josseppie,

Nice to see that you are still out there - and it is a reminder that it is football season.

I was thinking about heading to the WNMS game but I realized that it is in Pueblo this year. Maybe next year.
