Something else that while has no impact on CSU Pueblo is that last weekend CU Boulder, CSU Fort Collins, UNC Greeley, and the Air Force Academy all lost and not doing good this year. So of the major colleges in the state only CSU Pueblo is nationally ranked and doing good.
The division 2 poll came out and Pueblo was ranked #3 in their as well. That means the top 2 division polls both have Pueblo at number 3. Now the top 2 teams need to lose this weekend so when Pueblo wins we can be ranked #1 in the nation!
#3 CSU Pueblo beat the gold-diggers (Colorado School of Mines) 48-28. In fact Pueblo had its second and third string players out the last 10 minutes of the game lol
PUEBLO, Colo. (Gothunderwolves.com - Oct. 19, 2013) - Saturday may always be remembered as one of the most historically significant nights in the history of football in Pueblo.
And it was more than fitting that the game was concluded by a fireworks show.
The third-ranked ThunderWovles defeated the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers 48–28 in the University's "pink out" game, matching a conference record in the process.
With the win, not only did John Wristen win his 50th game as head coach, but the Pack also won their 27th straight RMAC game, tying a streak by Chadron State from 2006-09.
Well the Denver Broncos lost tonight and while I am a big Bronco fan the upside of the loss now means that in Colorado CSU Pueblo is the only undefeated football team in the state on the college and pro level!
CSU Pueblo has a bye this weekend. Well not really but they play Black Hills State who have yet to win a game this season and has the worst ranked defense in the RMAC while Pueblo has the best ranked offense so practically speaking this will be like a bye week for the Pack.
mod comment--For the record CSU-Pueblo is in the RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) This is the only Division II school with its own team thread.
Recently I've gotten a few reports regarding Div. II football. Division II teams are more than welcome to have their own team thread on this forum. There are still dozens of teams that don't have their own threads from Washington to Stanford to USC to God knows how many other universities.
There are lots of players who go to the NFL that come from the smaller schools-lots!
I recently found out that I am able to watch the games on line, the cost is $8. That is what I am doing today as the game is at Black Hills and so far its all Pueblo. Half time and the score is 24-7 # 3 Pueblo lead.....
Some good news out of Pueblo as the Thunderwolfs have now taken the record in the RMAC for the amount of wins in a row, and still counting. Plus I believe its the longest winning streak currently in all of division 2 football.
This is from CSU Pueblo:
The victory is the Pack's 34th straight regular season win and its 28th straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win. With the win, the Pack improves to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in RMAC play, more than likely maintaining its national ranking of third in the nation.
I just found out that the 2nd ranked team in the nation, Northwest Missouri State, takes on the 8th ranked team, Washburn (Kan) next week. Now if CSU Pueblo can win, and I think they will, and Washburn wins Pueblo would be the 2nd ranked team in the nation come next Monday.
