Yeah, it boggles my mind as to why he's still around. They've fired everyone else who was involved but didn't see anything happen, yet their still keeping around the guy who not only knew about this, but SAW the crime go down. I don't get it, he should have been one of the very first to go

What a mess! Here comes the wrecking ball.

If the board of trustees is not going to let Paterno at least finish the season and retire, or fire McQuery along with Paterno, they should just do the right thing and cease football operations in their entirety for the remainder of this year. Who cares about football at this point? Really?

Regroup and let some time pass. Bring in new personnel. As usual, it's all about the money.

Hmmmm. I think many reasonable people would disagree.

58 year old man.
10 year old boy.
Shower.

IF, and I stress IF, that's all JP knew, and he didn't address it, that's enough.

JP himself said he wishes he had done more. The man admits he didn't do enough to stop it.

More is coming out, and I'm afraid we are all going to find out just how much JP knew, and how much he didn't do.

I'll be very surprised, and appalled, if McQ isn't fired before Sat.

IF McQuery did know more than he told about that one incident AND he still stayed to work at Penn State AND he saw Sandusky on the grounds and knew that Sandusky was using Penn State facilities for his "second mile" program...then he was bought off

I know the DA can make deals with the devil to get testimony that will convict--
but I don't see how Penn St can offer McClusky that shelter anymore
he is a big boy now...let him act like one and resign
Maybe he will get his career f-----up but that is just a career--not his entire life/value system...
He can take a small step to right the wrong of silence he committed that night by holding himself accountable...

it's not just mcquery. listen to this tape:

Starkey: Sandusky Gave 2007 Commencement Speech CBS Chicago

they ALL knew.

shame, shame, shame.

isn't it interesting that a HIGH SCHOOL did the right thing, not penn state college, and THAT is how the grand jury investigation was launched.

The DA refused to press charges. No one can ask him why because he went missing back in 2005.

I simply can't understand how anyone could defend Joe Paterno. Put yourself in his situation, if someone told you your Defensive Coordinator was seen having anal intercourse with a 10 year old boy in the locker room, what would you do? Would you just tell a school official and let it go? That's what Joe did.

I was taught it's our responsibility to protect the weak and those who can't protect themselves. 10 year old boys cannot protect themselves against predators like Sandusky. Not only do I report Sandusky to the police, I also fire him from my staff immediately. Any responsible and stand-up person would have done the same thing. This is why Joe got fired and rightfully so. His failure to act is gross negligence on his part.

You missed my point.

Sandusky was on campus all the time. They said he even had kids from the charity with him. What did Paterno think when he saw this? What kind of person can brush that off?

Paterno and all better start lawyering up. This is going to get very very ugly.
