Harsh? Terms like "evil" and "vile" would describe them better. Rioting in defense of a University and a man that willingly and knowingly tried to sweep a despicable crime under the rug. Calling them "mindless idiots" was me being holding back a bit.

Poor Penn State, poor Joe Paterno, poor Penn State students. Forget about the victims....yeah, I catch your drift, pal.

I never said what Paterno did was right! You're taking things WAY out of context!

They're COLLEGE STUDENTS, they should be able to express their dissatisfaction with Penn State's handling of the situation.

They're upset because Joe Pa was justly fired. These are not rational people.

Too bad because Joe Pa could have done the right thing a decade a go. He could have saved some kids and put a monster behind bars.

Right, if you knew Ted Bundy, you'd know what a nice guy he was too

Normally, I enjoy your posts.... but on this topic, COME ON MAN... Stop typing! I'm really not sure why you are defending anyone at Penn State involved with this horrible tragedy. Maybe you should read the 23 page grand jury document? Just a thought....

I've been away from the board this morning towing my neighbor's car off Interstate 70. I'm going to shut this thread down for a bit as I've received a few complaints, looking quickly I see some deleting needs to be done. I'll have it back up as soon as I get these posts straightened out, it will be a little while.

We have to keep this on topic to the Penn State issue here. We went off topic on several posts here. A lot of them had merit but still had to be deleted.

I know emotions are high here, very high. And I know that this might be just the tip of the iceberg. It's easy to go off topic and hijack the thread. Let's keep it civil here. As the investigation and charges move forward, we're going to have more issues here. Much as I hate to predict, this thread will last a while, but hopefully just a temporary shutdown here and there to let people cool off will be how I'm going to handle this thread. Will still do a little more deleting but I'll re-open this.

A number of these posts would be a good fit in the Pennsylvania forum, maybe True crimes forum as some of the posts got involved with talking of crime issues, state law, etc. This thread is only one of several threads in different different forums but I'd like to keep it limited to Penn State and the coaching staff.

By rioting?? Dude, please tell me you're pulling our legs. Otherwise I'm going to have a very hard time taking anything you ever say seriously.

This game today should have been cancelled. . .It is a horrid affair when it doesn't matter that a child/ren have been raped and molested, they offer a few apologetic words and prayers to the victims and then business as usual.

It boggles the mind that the very same institutions our children are supposed to feel safe in and the very place we entrust our children to, betrays and fails them. No excuses, Penn State is a disgrace to everything they represent! They need to clean house completely!

Had Sandusky been a John Doe high school coach, he would have been escorted out of the building by police and would be in jail, unfortunately prestige, money, power, glory, in this sordid scenario reigns supreme, go figure.
