I know the SEC has 5 National Titles in that period... and 13 Final Fours!!! The Big 12 is NO where near that...

So that makes it true... LOL, more comedy.

Check the facts... instead of listening to the radio.

It's ok to be a conference full of mediocre athletic programs. it's ok man...

O, in case you were wondering how much your precious Kansas generates in basketball revenue...

University of Kansas (Basketball) $16,116,502... that's the 23rd best basketball revenue. and 2nd best in the Big 12 behind Texas of course.

A complete list can be found of all programs can be found at

But i wouldnt go there if I were you because your feelings might get hurt when you realize how far down the Big 12 is from the SEC after Texas and Oklahoma. ;-)

Texas is the best. Far superior to any SEC teams.

I have no problem admitting Texas is the best individual athletic program in the country, hands down... But that doesn't mean the Big 12 is the best conference.

If the Big 12 was the best at anything they wouldn't have lost 4 schools over the past two years.

Best in what? Money making? Revenue- sure, but if best means winning in all sports programs, that would go to Stanford- easily. Texas isn't even close and it has been that way since 1994. Just saying.

I was shocked to see the Ducks in the Top 25- We're movin' on up to the East Side...

That's in large part to it's huge endowment and that it fields more teams than most other schools. Texas has had some top finishes.

This was originally an SEC thread, so it's football or GTFO.

Anyways, overlooking real hard core analysis, most will say SEC over Big XII. Just looking at when the Big XII was actually at XII and before all this conference craziness;

SEC has national champs in Florida, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn.

Big XII has had Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

No one cares about almosts, and no one cares about games that are not the National Championship, the press sure doesn't because the constant refrain is "you're a weak conference if you're not in the National Championship race".

More broadly, the SEC has probably seven teams that could potentially win one based on history and amenities. Big XII now has Texas and Oklahoma (can add OKST now too). I love Snyder but he doesn't get Red River talent and TCU/WVU are gonna have an adjustment period.

Texas is the most valuable program in the country, and I don't think there is any debating that. Don't be jealous Mr. Quack Attack.

I hate to break this to you... But Nebraska has never won a National Championship in the Big 12... Not even before the BCS.

And LSU & Florida have 2 each... Please note that.
