If UGA wins the SEC how are they not in the big game? They(GA) still have to play #25 Georgia Tech and #1 LSU in the championship. A win this week would put them in the top 10. If Georgia beat LSU they would have to jump to number 2. Look how much USC jump up they polls after beating Oregon. LSU didnt have to play Moore and Boise State or Marcus Latimore and the Gamecocks who are still in the top 15 by the way. Both teams can beat Bama or LSU.

Georgia won't jump to #2... they already have two losses...

If anything VT or OK-ST would move up there to #2. You could have some real stupidity and have Georgia beat LSU in the championship game, which may allow Alabama to be at #1 (without winning their conference)... similar to what happened with Kansas and Missouri in 2007 (Missouri lost the Big 12 championship which allowed Kansas-- who didn't even win their division to play in the Orange Bowl).

So yeah, Alabama could sneak into the big game without even winning their division... Now that would be retarded.

It was a good game in Tuscaloosa, but I dont think you should play for a National Championship, unless you win your conference....Until they start a playoff.

They've done it before, though....

I said it already, but I don't think winning the conference should be a factor until all the conferences have championship games. Otherwise the conferences that don't have championship games have a big advantage.

LMAO. Where would the LSU program be if Saban never came to LSU?.

The ONLY way LSU will not play for the National Championship is by getting KILLED by Arkansas...

The ONLY way Bama will not play for the National Championship is by losing to Auburn...

It's pretty much a done deal unless one of 2 things happen...

so those of you that do not want to see it... start cheering for Arkansas & Auburn... LOL

LSU could beat Arkansas and lose to Georgia (in the SEC championship), then they would not play for the NC.
Instead, Alabama would play vs. a 1 loss team from another conference. (OK-State or VT probably)

... This isn't likely to happen, but it is possible... This is why the system is stupid sometimes.

I don't really see how that would work, LSU would still be at worst #2 even if they lose the SEC championship game.

In that case, they'd lose the SEC championship and still get to play in the title game-- ahead of the winner of the SEC championship (Georgia)

Man, we have a stupid system here.

That's the dumbest comment ever. LSU came into your house and beat you fair and square. Sure it was a tough contest, but you had your shot.

Which brings me to my point. If the two won out and played in a rematch, it essentially means that Alabama only has to beat LSU once to win a national championship game, while LSU has to beat Alabama twice--with a conference championship game with Georgia thrown into the mix, too. That means that Alabama gets the easier road to a championship. And I can't imagine any objective person thinking that is fair.
