big east didn't take boise for the future, they took them because it guarantees..though the BCS rules, that they can't be stripped of their AQ status.

there are guidelines. they review a series of years. its mainly(supposedly) for adding(or pretending to) a new conference if need be but as we learned in 2004 with the big east, it also is a guideline for taking away. the big east had to work out some sort of deal where they could use the rankings from teams that left(miami) AND teams that weren't in yet (louisville) at the time to remain safe.

the first and most important thing is their highest teams BCS ranking.

the past 2 years, without Boise, the big east will have no one in the top 25 and in real danger of losing that AQ.

with boise, they are top 10 both years and comfortably safe...well ahead of the ACC and Big 10 over the review period(2008-2011)

Thanks, JJG. I'm sure it beats the name of a Big Ten with 12 schools and a Big Twelve with 10 schools and Pac 12 that occupies the high plains of Colorado (east of the Continental Divide, its waters flow to the Atlantic).

Yeah. At least it doesn't challenge any basic math skills or geography.
