Should more top high school talent accept scholarships to go play for programs that not the top tier in hopes they will get the starting job faster?Or should mroe of the top athletes who ended up not getting the starting job transfer to less successful programs and have a better chance of starting? They could stay with their current program for two years, compete against the best, and then just transfer, take a year off to recuperate, and start for the lesser team. They can really showcase themselves now. Or does the whole deal of redshirting make this useless? This notion would spread the talent around better I think. What are your thoughts?
For example, Russell Shepard of LSU. He was supposed to be a QB. He and Matt Barkley where the two best HS QBs that year. He comes to LSU, does not get to play QB. Why not just transfer to like Ole Miss. It is not that far. Well they had Jevan Snead. Or even Tennessee. Guys like Brock Berlin, Robert Marve, and Dayne Crist did just that.
