Ironic. Yeah the SEC is dead and Sabans code has been cracked because two of his former staffers built an SEC style team at FSU. You guys are hilarious.

Almost as funny as that trickbag gadget offense that almost stole a NC. They never get called for illegal procedure or not enough men in the box or O linemen not being set or a TE lined up a fraction of an inch off the LOS like other teams like Alabama does because the refs are too busy trying to get out of the way. Im glad a traditional football team won and I hope that HUNH crap gets ruled out of existence and stays in the backyard and in middle school PE classes where it belongs.

What is going on here?
Ah, winning the game? So auburn loses and Alabama got their ass kicked in the sugar bowl. Looks like the SEC is all hype.

You know, I'm an Auburn fan, but I'm not an SEC homer. I think we've had a great run, but I just don't get the SEC! SEC! bit.

Looks like it, huh?

But what if Auburn would have won? That would have been 8 in a row, mostly in part to the SEC West.

So that's all done now, right? BCS darlings, right? But what if we have four SEC teams in the playoffs next year?

How many of the next 8 cfb championships do y'all think the SEC will win? Four or more, anybody?

Hats off to Winston though. He was rattled like never before and he hung in there. How many years before he goes pro?

One? Four?

Tough to say since he plays baseball too. I would run to the MLB over the NFL any day. More money, a longer career and less injuries.

I would, too. Had Bo Jackson not signed with the Raiders, he likely would have played twenty years in the show.

FSU's clearly the best team in the nation -- congrats to them and their fan base.

But I do think all the talk of SEC's death is premature. With four teams in the top ten and a .700 winning percentage in bowls this season, you could still argue that the SEC's the best conference in the nation. It's just that there's more room for debate this time around, with two losses in BCS games.

FWIW, I think that there will be more parity in the years to come. Saban will eventually retire. Florida St has re-emerged and will garner some big team recruits from programs that used to commit to SEC schools. Texas will become a powerhouse again, as will USC. The coaching and recruiting will balance things out from time to time.

Ole Miss routs Vandy.

Rankings of the SEC West? 2, 5, and 15th... off the top of my head.

First couple of weeks? Just your typical cupcakes. Nothing to really gauge anything just yet here.

I love it how I've been talking SEC West smack for the last few years and last season as soon as FSU came back and won, a bunch of munches come in here and tell me that I'm talking smack and that I'm the SEC homer.

But I'm glancing at the college schedules here and I still respect the SEC West because they are still the conference playing the most SEC West opponents.

We'll see how they do this season.
