Once Fla St goes down, it's going to be an SEC West playoff.

I would be laughing my head off.
You do realize they all play each other. 2 are on Upset alert tonight and they have yet hit the Iron or Egg bowl yet.

Oops, lost one.

LSU took Ole Miss out.

Auburn is safe and Bama has a two score lead late.

Yes, I understand the SEC West play each other. Why wouldn't they?

But a loss to another SEC West opponent doesn't really count as a loss.

It's more like "friendly fire".

This question still hurts my brain.

Do I realize they all play each other? What else would teams of the same conference do to or with each other?

Anyway. A loss against an SEC West opponent should count as 0.5 losses and a win should count for 1.5.

Hmmm... I wonder if that's how the BCS did it?

But as we all know, the SEC West is too good to even need that advantage, so just give it to out of conference opponents who have the guts to play the SEC West. Florida State Seminoles for example, bring it on. Schedule in the lowest of them, Arkansas!

Last night I saw some idiot broadcaster give his final four. It was Miss St., Oregon, Notre Dame and Fla St. How can anyone that watches football think that. I may give Fla St a spot since they will likely run the table. But the best team in Mississippi and Alabama should each get one this year.

I don't think any of those other teams would finish above .500 playing the SEC west. Look what happened to A&M (@MSU, Ole Miss, @Bama) LLL. Tough to line up against those guys weekly.

Out of Conference opponents who have the guts to play the SEC West... ROFL. How about the SEC West needs to have the guts to play a Power 5 school away. When they do, they get tested i.e. Auburn - Kansas State.

Take the state of Mississippi
Mississippi State - No Power 5, FCS on schedule
Mississippi - No Power 5, FCS on schedule

Clown on Florida State (a team that beat SEC West best last year)... they at least play Power 5 opponents in OOC. Big 12 OK State (away), SEC Florida (long standing home/away), and AP #6 Notre Dame.

Notre Dame looks tough this season and credit the Seminoles for beating them. I keep waiting for them (Fla St) to go down, but haven't... yet.

That Auburn-Fla St game was a good game that could have gone either way.

As far as this season, I would have never guessed that MissSt and Ole Miss would have risen to the top nor do I know how long the Bulldogs will last but if they could some how win out with the rest of their West opponents, I like their chances.

Power 5 school? That means nothing here. This here is an SEC West thread.

I'd like to see Mississippi State run the table. I get people are sick of the whole SEC fandom thing, but Mississippi in general rarely gets any positive press and in football LSU and the two Alabama schools, and to a lesser extent Arkansas Always overshadows the Bulldogs of Starkville. It's nice to see some new and somewhat unexpected blood in the conference step up to the plate.

Ditto Ole Miss but MS State is still unbeaten as of this post.

Yeah, but I was kind of hoping Ole Miss would have gone further and stay undefeated rather than Miss St.

Still a lot of football to be played. Some folks think that the SEC West will cannibalize itself. We shall see.

Well, the way I see it, Auburn and Mississippi State should get credit for 1.5 win while Ole Miss and Arkansas should get credit for only 0.5 loss.

Speaking on AR. it looks like they may be the best team in college football not to make a bowl game this year, barring a miracle.
