Big 12 South
Baylor
Houston
Texas
Texas Tech
TCU
SMU
That would be a terrible conference. Texas left the SWC only to rejoin the SWC. They were reluctant on adding TCU. No way they go around and add SMU and Houston. This would pretty much be a regional conference.

The other schools, other than WVU, don't want to expand. I think Boren's laying the groundwork for a move, possibly to the Big Ten where Oklahoma will be reunited with Nebraska and will also get to play Wisconsin annually.

OU doesn't have the academic cache.....nowhere close to AAU status.

Plus, the B1G would be least suitable conference for Oklahoma culturally.

But it would be a major boon for OU financially so I'm sure they'd be all over it.

I think Tejas (like OU not a contiguous state in the Midwest so that's a problem) and Kansas are the only schools that have a legit shot of the B1G.

Plus, even if OU was close academically to the B1G (it's not) how would the Sooners ever leave Oklahoma State? Ain't happening. SEC West or the PAC1South with the old Big XII South state schools (OSU, Tech, Tejas) are the best options for OU culturally and regionally and ultimately financially.

You'll be waiting a long time. Right now, the ACC and the Big 12 are fighting to stay alive and they all hinge on Texas nd OU for the big 12 and the North Carolina schools in the ACC. If UNC leaves for the SEC or BIG, the ACC is done or if Texas or OU leaves, the Big 12 is done. The Big 12 just needs one or the other by itself to kill the conference.

I think it will take some time but the only place I see FSU going if they did leave, is the SEC. UNC could as well.
