Yeah, he let it slip, and then hours later, said it was based off rumors after it created a furor. He obviously was not supposed to let that slip, and found a way to backout, which no one is believing.
He is not even being serious about stating it is a rumor.
So it's Even more of a reason not to listen to this clown... Like I said, he is not saying anything new from the bloggers... He's not the credible source that makes it anything more than the rumor still. period.
If the ACC expands again, schools like Rutgers and UConn would be added next. Maybe even Temple, if their football program keeps this up.
All of this sounds crazy though.
For sure the ACC will snatch the rest of the Big E football teams. Cincinnati is even worth picking up, although the Big 10 or the Big 12 will probably get them. The Big east might end as a football conference with the football teams going to the ACC. That wont save the ACC though. They might be the 5th best conference, in a league of 4 super conferences.

Cincinnati plays in a stadium that only holds 35,000 and the university is ranked 143 on the USNWR.
No major conference is going to invite Cincinnati unless it is absolutely necessary.

I can not imagine a scenario in which the Big Ten would go after Cincinnati, no disrespect to the Bearcats.
They are ok. If they want to grow to 16 teams they wouldnt be a bad choice.
You obviously don't know college football as well as you lead on. Cincinnati should be happy with the Big East. Their only other option would be the MAC.
Name one thing The Bearcats could offer the Big Ten.
Academics?-nope
Football strength?-nope
New market?-nope
Fan base?-nope (and tOSU wouldn't let them in)
Improved Big Ten Network?-nope
"IF" the Big Ten added colleges, it would be something like Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Duke. But in has to be something the Big Ten needs, and they need little that they don't already have. I see them staying at 12 because of this. They are the most stable of all conferences.

I was reading the Bevo thread about FSU and Clemson going to the BIG 12. A USC fan explained how if the PAC 12 had to go to 16, they could pickup the remains of the Big East and ACC. Put those 4 teams in a football only pod. Because they would play each other 3 games a year and 3 of the remaining conf. games would be at home, they would only have to play 3 west coast games a year.
It is an interesting idea. The Pac 12 wouldn't have to pickup small no name Univ's just the east coast schools no one else wants. The Rutgers of the world. It would add large TV markets and since neither coast really cares about college football the cultures would fit perfectly.
FSU, Clemson, Miami and GTech are not going to the Big 12, because that is the only major conference that doesn't share revenues equally. None of those ACC schools are going to play second fiddle to Texas. Once Miami and FSU start dominating again at the national level, the financial situation for the ACC will improve. Winning will resolve the ACC's football-related issues.
The Big 12, otoh, has problems. It is comprised of Texas and leftovers that no other conference wanted. OK, OK State, Texas Tech and Texas all were rejected by the PAC. Iowa State, KS, and KS State were snubbed by the Big Ten. That leaves Baylor. It replaced Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and Texas A&M with TCU and WVU, two schools wanted only by the Big East.
I know why they are more stable than the Big12, Big East, and ACC.
But why do u think they are more stable than the PAC12... And more importantly the SEC?
Because of the 25 year Grant of Rights they signed back in 2007.
