Week#4
Baylor (B+) (still have not played a team with a defense...let's withhold judgment)
Texas Tech (B+)
Texas (B-) (because this was a must win for Tejas I bumped 'em up from a C+)
Kansas (C+) (it was still only LaTech)
Kansas St. (D) (couldn't run the ball against a Texas team that had given up 700yds in previous games?)
West Virginia (F-) (just astounded how much WV is killin' our crediblity....you got blanked by Maryland?)
Cool. Should get more interesting in the next few weeks with teams actually playing conference opponents. Was kind of a dull week not only in this conference but across cfb.

Yes. We're going to actually learn where the Big XII is in the next 2-3 weeks. The first couple of weeks we've taken some pretty severe hits to our credibility with WV's losses, Kansas State's loss, and Texas' loss not only to BYU, but also an SEC bottom-feeder in Ole Miss. And Iowa State's loss to Iowa and TCU's loss to LSU (although that was expected by most and the Frogs did keep the game relatively close).
We'll learn if the Sooners are the class of the league against how we look against a real D-Line at Notre Dame.
Right now it's gonna be a good race in the Big XII. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tech, & Baylor all look like viable candidates. We'll see.
Week#5
Oklahoma (A) (big-time win against a tradition-laden ranked team in tough atmosphere on the road, no turnovers was huge)
West Virginia (B+) (big win against supposedly one of the Big XII's best = hurts our conference credibility)*
TCU (B) (played like they should and distanced themselves from a lesser program)
Iowa State (B-) (beat a Tulsa team that probably has more talent, solid non-conference win)
Oklahoma State (F) (shamed the state of Oklahoma and really hurt the credibility of the Big XII)
*Still questioning whether West Virginia was a good addition to our conference.

EDIT: TCU's grade should be lower. Their first half performance was pretty rough.
Oklahoma's win was over an overrated tradition rich team. I think A is a bit generous. I'd have given them an B+. I think it is remarkable they scored ONLY 35 points with 3 interceptions. OU was 5-14 on 3rd down, which means 1st and 2nd down weren't very good.
TCU's 1st half was sloppy and uninspired. But they woke up in the 2nd half and played great defense. I still have my doubts about their offense (especially play calling).
WVU's win was surprising but definitely not good for the Big12.

Well, that tradition rich team played in the national title just a few months ago. How is 35 points not enough? Does OU's defense not get any credit for forcing the turnovers? Interesting logic. How often do SEC teams break 40? Not often.....Oklahoma doesn't have the high flying offense of Landry Jones and Sam Bradford. This is much more of a run first and pound team (a good thing!) and a team playing defense with attitude and an edge. A good tradeoff in my book. Yes, OU's offense sputtered a few times in the Redzone, but Notre Dame generally plays really good Redzone D.
I've actually been pretty stingy on awarding high grades.....Oklahoma's win over Notre Dame (clearly the best non-conference win by far for the Big XII) is only the second A I've awarded along with Oklahoma State's thumping of Mississippi St.
Not making excuses for that 1st half, but it IS still a rivalry. Anything can happen.
Yes you are. No excuses.
I think OU's matchup with TCU will be a good game. We'll see if OU comes out flat and not ready to play after a much anticipated game and victory. If you're coming to the game, welcome to Oklahoma!
