Why would Bret Bielema leave Wisconsin? They are the class of the B1G or at least among the class.

You can't steal someone for a DC job when no one else wanted him at a bigger program for that same job.

You do realize he was one of their big recruiters.

You need him to call plays and he's never been a DC while coaching in college for only a couple years. FSU always recruits fine you just can't develope and coach that talent.

Really!?!? #2 in Total Defense, #3 in Passing Defense, #5 in Rush Defense, #7 in Scoring Defense... Bjoern Werner was a 3 star player (based on rivals); he is #7 in sacks/game and is now a consensus All-American. Yep we sure don't know how to coach that talent.

Everyone has to start from somewhere. He got to learn under Nick Saban, a coach known for defense throughout his collegiate coaching career.

Those ranks are cute and all vs ACC teams but you got owned on the line of scrimmage vs a real team. It's absolutely hilarious you are even quoting those numbers.

FSU gave up 400 yards to UF and Clemson. FSU defense would rank about 8th in the SEC.

He's not a step up from Stoops though. Most likely it's a downgrade. Gotta do what you can when your DC gets a HC job though. I wouldn't be that stoked if I were an F$U fan, you lost a great DC and gained an unknown.

We don't know. He is unproven as a DC. Again everyone has to start somewhere. Stoops is a loss but I am comfortable with the hire, given his recruiting efforts and learning under the best. I ask you... How well have other former coaches under Saban have faired...

Clemson is highly regarding as a great offense. UF is the #3 team who is a state rival ie plays harder than in other games. In your game with us, a bunch of those yards were at the end of the game when our team gave up. I would expect both of them to put up yards.

Plenty of schools could have made those rankings too if their defenses were actually good.
